Wiese Weekend: Union Hotel

We held our traditional banquet at the historic Union Hotel, established as a stagecoach stop in Revolutionary times but better known as where the jurors were sequestered for the Lindbergh kidnapping trial, which took place in the courthouse across the street. However, we went there because Wiese had painted the animals in a mural for the hotel, significant pieces of which still remained on display in the dining area.

The Union Hotel from across the street. (Sadly, it is now just a restaurant and bar.)

Alice and Emma and friends - the consensus favorite painting of the set.

Mrs. Wiggins, Mrs. Wogus, Mrs. Wurzburger, and company.

Don't know who these guys are, though they were clearly painted by Wiese.

The paintings in the corner of the back dining room. Note Charles, Henrietta, and Cackletta in an uncharacteristically obscure position.
